Terms of use

The terms on which you may use harddisc.net — the most important being that our price data is informational, not a guarantee.

Please have this reviewed by legal counsel

These terms are provided as a clear, good-faith starting point and are not legal advice. Before relying on them, the site owner should have them reviewed and tailored by a qualified attorney for their jurisdiction and circumstances, including the governing-law and liability provisions.

Last updated: 4 June 2026. These terms (‘Terms’) govern your use of harddisc.net (‘the site’). By accessing or using the site, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Use of the site

You may use the site for your own lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes — researching and comparing storage products. You agree not to misuse the site, including by scraping or copying its data at scale, attempting to disrupt or compromise it, or using it in any way that breaches applicable law or these Terms.

2. No warranty on price or specification accuracy

The site provides price, capacity, specification and cost-per-terabyte information for comparison only. While we refresh data daily and strive for accuracy, prices, availability and specifications change constantly and may be out of date, incomplete or wrong at any given moment. We make no warranty that any information on the site is accurate, current or complete. Always verify the live price and details at the retailer before purchasing. Nothing on the site is a binding offer to sell at any displayed price.

3. Affiliate relationships

The site participates in affiliate programmes and may earn commissions on qualifying purchases made through outbound links, at no extra cost to you. These relationships do not affect our rankings, which are ordered by cost per terabyte and editorial judgement. Full details are in our affiliate disclosure, which forms part of these Terms.

4. No professional advice

Content on the site, including guides and the blog, is general information, not professional, financial or data-protection advice. You are responsible for your own purchasing and data-management decisions. We strongly encourage independent backups; we are not responsible for any data loss.

5. Intellectual property

The site’s original content — text, layout, design, original graphics and the compiled arrangement of its data — is owned by harddisc.net or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not reproduce, republish or redistribute substantial portions of the site without permission, except for normal personal use and brief quotation with attribution and a link. Product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only.

6. External links

The site links to third-party websites, including retailers. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, products, pricing, policies or practices of any third-party site. Following an external link is at your own risk, and any transaction you make with a third party is solely between you and that party, governed by their terms.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site is provided ‘as is’ and ‘as available’, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. harddisc.net shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages — including lost data, lost profits, or losses arising from reliance on price or specification information or from purchases made through the site — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

8. Changes to these terms

We may revise these Terms at any time as the site or applicable law evolves. Changes take effect when posted, indicated by the ‘last updated’ date above. Your continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction to be specified by the site owner with legal counsel], without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and any disputes shall be subject to the courts of that jurisdiction. This placeholder must be completed before these Terms are relied upon.

10. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to hello@harddisc.net or via the contact page. See also our privacy policy.
